NCL Pride of America - Hawaii Itinerary

Day 1 (Saturday): Embarkation in Honolulu, Oʻahu

  •  Evening departure — The ship boards in Honolulu, typically departing around 7:00 PM.

  • Recommended pre-cruise or first-night activities (if you arrive early): Explore the city — iconic spots include Waikiki Beach, the historic Iolani Palace, and the lush views from Diamond Head crater.

  • Once aboard, settle in, enjoy dinner, and take in the ocean view — the ship offers a range of dining, entertainment, and relaxing spaces.

Day 2 (Sunday): Maui — Kahului (First Day)

  •  Arrival early morning, around 8:00 AM, docking at Kahului, Maui.

  • What to explore: Maui is rich in natural beauty. You might:

  • Drive (or join a tour) along the legendary Road to Hana for waterfalls, lush jungle, and coastal views.

  • Visit Haleakalā National Park — sunrise or sunset from the volcanic crater is a bucket-list experience.

  • Find local charm in Kahului: shops, markets, waterfront dining.

  • Overnight stay in port — giving extra time to relax ashore or enjoy Maui’s beaches.

Day 3 (Monday): Maui — Kahului (Second Day)

  •  Use this extra half-day or more to dig deeper into Maui:

  • Explore the green, tranquil Iao Valley State Park for rainforest hikes and cultural history.

  • Or head to sandy beaches, go snorkeling, or check out local towns for food, shopping, and relaxing at your own pace.

  • Evening departure — Ship leaves Maui around 6:00 PM.

Day 4 (Tuesday): Hilo, Big Island (Hawaiʻi)

  •  Arrive in the morning, around 8:00 AM, at Hilo, Hawaii on the island of Hawai‘i (the “Big Island”).

  • What to do:

  • Visit lush rainforests and waterfalls — for example, the stunning Akaka Falls State Park.

  • Check out botanical gardens, coastal scenery, and mellow town vibes along Hilo Bay.

  • If time/interest permits, consider a longer excursion to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, where volcanic landscapes, lava tubes and volcanic activity remind you of the Earth’s raw power.

  • Late afternoon departure, around 6:00 PM, continuing your island-hopping adventure.

Day 5 (Wednesday): Kona, Big Island (West Coast)

  •  Dock early (around 7:00 AM) at Kailua-Kona, Hawaii on Hawai‘i’s west coast.

  • Recommended activities:

  • Explore the historic downtown — charming shops, local eateries, and relaxed beaches near where you dock.

  • Go snorkeling or diving: the waters around Kona are often calm and clear, perfect for seeing marine life.

  • Coffee lovers: consider a tour of a local coffee farm to taste real Kona coffee — famous worldwide.

  • Departure in the late afternoon, around 5:30 PM.

Day 6 (Thursday): Kauaʻi — Nāwiliwili (First Day)

  •  Arrive about 8:00 AM at Nawiliwili, Kauaʻi, on the lush “Garden Isle.”

  • What to explore:

  • Venture inland to the spectacular Waimea Canyon — sometimes dubbed the “Grand Canyon of the Pacific” — with dramatic cliffs, valleys, and sweeping views.

  • Consider a boat or helicopter tour up Nā Pali Coast to see towering sea cliffs, hidden beaches, waterfalls, and lush valleys — one of Hawai‘i’s most iconic landscapes.

  • Or keep it chill: stroll around town, enjoy local food, or relax at nearby beaches. The port is walkable to some dining and beach options.

  • Overnight stay in Kauaʻi gives you more time to soak in the island’s laid-back vibe.

Day 7 (Friday): Kauaʻi — Nāwiliwili (Second Day)

  •   Use this extra day to explore more of Kauaʻi’s natural beauty and cultural spots:

  • Take a leisurely boat ride along the scenic Wailua River. Many tours include visits to waterfalls, grottos (like Fern Grotto), and lush jungle — perfect for a relaxed, nature-filled day.

  • Hit a beach, go paddle-boarding/kayaking, or just enjoy the island’s laid-back tropical vibe. Kauaʻi’s calm waters and natural surroundings make it ideal for a chill day.

  • Afternoon departure around 2:00 PM — the ship heads back toward Oʻahu.

Day 8 (Saturday): Return to Honolulu, Disembarkation

  •    Arrival early morning in Honolulu, typically around 7:00 AM.

  • Disembark, or if you have time — stay in town for more exploring: enjoy the rest of Oʻahu, revisit favorite spots, or relax before you head home.
